5. meeting of the University Alumni Centres of the Czech Republic
Today – Thursday, 3 November, the fifth meeting of the University Alumni Centres of the Czech Republic took place, this time in an online environment. It brought together representatives of alumni departments from more than ten Czech public universities. At the beginning of the meeting, the members of the Alumni Centre VŠE, who organize these meetings, welcomed the rest of the participants. Also, the new head of the Alumni Centre VŠE, Ing. Tereza Jiříková, introduced herself. It was followed by the introduction of other members who have joined the group recently, which is always welcomed and appreciated.
The purpose of these meetings is to exchange know-how, inspiration and help in various areas of the alumni agenda. At today’s meeting, the main speaker was Mgr. Jana Harvišová, who presented in detail the functioning of the Alumni Club at VŠB-Technical University in Ostrava. The Alumni Centre VŠB-TUO falls under the Department of Public Relations and is responsible for communication with alumni, for whom it organizes large and small meetings, manages the Alumni Network as well as initiates the awarding of alumni in the form of the Alumni Trail. The presentation was both useful and very inspiring.
After a short discussion, Mrs. Ing. Jana Sommerová, who is co-organizing the International Alumni Centres Meeting on behalf of the University of Chemical Technology Prague, invited the other participants to join. The meeting will take place from 30 November to 2 December 2022 and it will include a networking, a campus tour, an interesting lectures given by foreign guests and more.
The University Alumni Centres of the Czech Republic group was initiated by VŠE in November 2021 and so far four meetings have been held. The next meeting will be hold in February 2023 and the alumni agenda at the University of Hradec Králové and the University of Chemical Technology in Prague will be introduced. We are therefore delighted to be able to inspire each other in this way and move our work with alumni forward.
