Discussion with Roberta Metsola

On Wednesday, 14 February 2024, the VŠE Event Centre organized a discussion with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The event called “Deciding together: What kind of Europe do we want?” was organized with the help of the European Parliament Liaison Office in the Czech Republic.

Immediately after her arrival, the President was welcomed by the Rector and the management of the Prague University of Economics and Business. The event itself started with an introduction speech by Jarolim Antal, the moderator of the debate.

This exceptional discussion allowed not only the students and staff of the Prague University of Economics and Business to hear in person many interesting ideas from the President of one of the main institutions of the European Union. During the discussion, attendees had the opportunity to ask the President of the EP questions, either directly or via the Sli.do app.

After the debate, there was an unplanned photo shoot with students and an interview with a popular influencer Kovy.

The discussion with the President of the European Parliament was primarily intended to emphasize the importance of the young generation’s involvement in the European Union and to motivate students to use their vote in the upcoming European Parliament elections.

The discussion was held in English and broadcast live.
